Eid Mubarak

I personally love to dress up during festivals... Be it Christmas, Diwali or Eid. Festivals in india have always added grandeur to our already rich culture and tradition.

Now I have a special connections with Islamic culture (now that's a secret). The colors, rich embroidery, patterns and all the glitter has always left us mesmerized. They have a unique sense of style, and I personally feel Islamic girls who have a modern sense of style have revolutionised modest fashion.

As all our muslim friends are celebrating Eid, we thought of sharing a few things we loved that would look amazing.

Recently, I have noticed everyone gushing about the Pakistani long kurti's. They are mostly ankle length and can be worn with salwar, jeans, chudidhar and even pallazo's. Very elegant and the thing we like about it is, a lady with any body type will look fabulous. As it is not extremely fitted it covers the problem areas of voluptuous women and makes a person with thin frame look fuller. As pooja and me both belong to the thin frame category we adore the elegant kurti's.

You can wear heavily embroidered or something simple is personal choice. Colors like tangerine, reds and shades of greens are perfect for a rainy Eid. To give a slight twist to the traditions, keep the chandbali's and jhumkas aside... Instead opt for a rock chic ear cuff! But one can always wear those pretty chandbali's as it has a very antique Mughal feel to it. Heavy eye make-up goes hand-in-hand with this tradition and that's sumthing which can neva go out of fashion for them.

Wear pretty mojri's or stilettos with your kurta. Peep-toes also give that modern touch to your outfit.
So I am sure everyone plans to buy a Pakistani, because you are not going to regret about it. There are a few pretty options at CBAZAAR and do check the streets in town, you are going to get a variety at Manish Market and area around. Go get them this season and show your stylish traditional avtaar.

Celebrate Eid with good food, meet people, greet people and love yourself. Keep StreetShopping! Do tell us how you all celebrated Eid and how did you like our post. Also follow us on Instagram

Rains with Ease!

Complaining about the monstrous rains Pooja and me plan to meet. How difficult it is for clothes to dry, and how painstakingly Pooja reached college everyday especially when clothes above the knee are banned in college!

So as rains are here in all its glory take out those pinks, blues and oranges. Give your denims a back seat. Wear your cotton pants and materials which dry soon. And yes, dont worry if your college doesn't allow you to wear shorts. One can always fold their pants a bit which looks stylish!

I love the printed bag Pooja carries here, a pretty find from Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla. Shoes are the cutest! I love how how those famous oxford shoes are transformed into pretty rainy shoes. And ofcourse play with your footwear, from crocs to thong sandals, and our very own boots. The streets are filled with crazy number of colorful footwear. Also, use colorful phone covers and umbrellas to add that zing!

A hydrated look is always gorgeous. Fresh dewy pink lips and kajal is a personal favorite. Best thing about rains is you dont need to set your hair and spend hours ironing, keep them weavy and messed up! As my love for messed up hair is clear, messy buns and braids with bright rubber bands are a good way to avoid frizzy hair.

Keep it simple! And your beautiful! Btw, have you followed us on  Instagram? Comment below about how would you love to dress up this rainy season and Tag us on instagram!

Hello!
This is "we" Linnet and Pooja, best friends since many years. We have seen each other grow in every aspect of life. And as we grew together our sense of styling abilities also grew. Not that we were always like this. But our own kind of mistakes and disasters made us learn. I am a Mass Media graduate and worked as a fashion PR intern for Lakme. My friend Pooja is a Philosophy student.  Ah! Maybe that is why I have been sounding so philosophical off late. But we both love animals, she loves pink I love black; we love food, everything… Actually!
I must say, my PR internship has actually helped me and one of my inspirations to open this blog. Seeing others being styled and keeping a track on the latest trends, all of this has deepen my love for fashion. And when linnet meets Pooja after her college all they talk is fashion filled with loads of gossip and topped with tones of pictures. I know, too much of exaggeration has happened here. But trust me, that it what helps. Yea! Talking to people, Sharing your creepy and crazy ideas about fashion and of course other things.  We love doing this!
OK! Coming to the point, talking about seeing each other grow in terms of fashion is that we have always wanted to wear everything according to the latest trends and the biggest brands in town. But the truth is always bitter. Following trends and brands is EXPENSIVE! We decided to instead of burning a hole in our parent’s pockets we turn to street shopping. Now who said things you get on streets aren’t trendy? You just need an eye for it.
Our blog will be an effort to help all the girls who love shopping and keeping it stylish but in budget. As I am sure there are many girls out there who want to look their best. Buying brands is not important buying smart is. One should know what color scheme match, which prints look good, what dress match according to their body type. We will be exploring the city streets and giving you our picks on what’s stylish and how you can find them at affordable prices. From jewelry to clothes to footwear everything but street style. Fashion is not only about brands but exploring and what better than the streets of Mumbai, as it can give you a taste of everything. Our blog will make sure everyone out there is simple classy and wearable. Understanding our city's fashion which allows most of the pretty outfits from the market only in our wish list. We will try our level best to keep our post outfits easy to wear.

We would be glad if our efforts are appreciated and we are always open to improve our selves in terms of style. We would want to learn and see for things that inspire us. Hope you guys enjoy our posts and do comment and take it further.
